As part of Ohio State's covenant with communities, Community Partnerships Office (CP) develops strategic partnerships among community organizations and faculty, staff, and students in Ohio State’s Colleges of the Arts and Sciences to address issues of importance in Ohio and in some cases, around the world.
Community Partnerships’ core values are
- Communities operate in interdisciplinary and sometimes messy ways.
- True partnerships are based on honest and concrete respect for the viewpoints of others.
- True partnerships accomplish broader goals than individually led projects.
- Partnerships of equals take time to develop.
Current strategic areas of partnerships include:
Nonprofit Partnerships
Expanding and supporting connections with nonprofit and other community organizations across Ohio and in some cases, around the world, through service-learning and internship opportunities for students and research and teaching opportunities around community issues for faculty.
Public School Partnerships
Forging and strengthening connections among ASC faculty, and students and Ohio public school students, their families, and their teachers. These connections integrate the Ohio State Academic Plan's strategy to "significantly strenghen the scope and effectiveness of our commitment to P-12 public education" and help us work together to serve all Ohio students well, in public schools and on college campuses.
